2016 was a year with a structured, balanced and elegant grape profile for the Douro Valley. The grapes were picked at the end of September, when growing and picking conditions could not have been better. The port has a feminine charm, with a nose reminiscent of a field of violets and sunflowers. When it comes to the taste, fresh, ripe, juicy and dark fruits are in focus. The taste is well balanced by sweetness, acidity and a good, persistent aftertaste with notes of tea. The wine has great ageing potential and can be stored for another 15-35 years.
