In 1879, Swedish Lars Olsson Smith introduced continuous distillation, which he used to make Absolut Rent Brännvin. Instead of distilling the usual three to four times, the vodka was distilled countless times. 100 years later, it was relaunched as Absolut Vodka. It is still produced in Åhus, the birthplace of L.O. Smith.
Absolut Vodka has a rich, rounded and complex taste, yet smooth and warm with a distinctive character of grain followed by dried fruits.

Absolut Vodka is made from natural ingredients and unlike many other vodkas, it contains no added sugar. In fact, it’s as pure as vodka gets. The main ingredient in Absolut Vodka is water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Åhus, where it is protected from impurities. Winter wheat is different from other crops: it is planted in the fall and harvested the next. In between days, the wheat grows under the Swedish snow and gets its hard grains.
