Ardbeg is a whisky distillery on the Scottish island of Islay and was founded in 1815. Ardbeg whiskies are known for their strong smoky and peaty flavors that are characteristic of Islay whiskies in general.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan is aged in a combination of French oak barrels and classic American ex bourbon barrels. This unique contrast produces an unusual and unexpected flavor. It is bottled at 57.1% vol. and not chill-filtered or colored.

The taste is described as a swirl of strong black coffee with dense and rich dark chocolate notes. Add to this sweet and dark fall fruits – blackberries and cherries. Elegant and soft spicy oak ties it all together with large amounts of peat and a little salt that bites and tingles lightly in the mouth for a long time.
