Bogan Shiraz is a compact and intense wine from the Barossa Valley, created by winemaker Reid Bosward to highlight the rich Shiraz style from the Marananga and Nurioopta fields. The grapes grow in clay and sandy soils with red sandstone and come from vines that are up to 124 years old. The wine presents itself with ruby red hues and a dark core. The nose offers intense aromas of ripe black and blue fruits, pepper and licorice. On the palate, a juicy fruit acidity balances the deep flavors of cherry, vanilla and black currant, accompanied by barrel notes. Bogan Shiraz offers a rich flavor experience with rounded tannins and a harmonious finish with light sweetness. It pairs perfectly with hearty meat dishes, such as game and stews that can match the full-bodied flavor of the wine.
