A.H. Riise Rom is created as a tribute to one of the most prominent and entrepreneurial Danes, pharmacist and Councilor A.H. Riise, who lived and worked on the former Danish West Indies from 1838 to 1878.

Copenhagen had international stature when the city hosted the great Nordic Industrial, Agricultural and Art Exhibition in 1888. The exhibition opened on May 18 on an area that covered the current City Hall Square, Tivoli Gardens and the Industrial Association building.

A.H. Riise also participated in the great Nordic Exhibition at the West Indian Pavilion with his rum and was awarded a gold medal for “Excellent” product.

It is this honor and event that A.H. Riise Rum celebrates with the launch of this special 1888 Gold Medal Edition Rum.
