It is a partnership between Avadis Distillery and the Forstmeister Geltz-Zilliken winery.
The alcohol base and the majority of the gin’s thirty organic botanicals come from their own fields and plantations.
The icing on the cake is the subsequent infusion of Riesling wine from Zilliken. Ferdinand’s Saar Quince Gin, a counterpart to the English sloe gin, is made by macerating hand-picked quince pears in Ferdinand’s Saar Dry Gin for six months.
The liquid is then pressed in a grape press and Riesling wine and concentrated quince juice are added.
