Like all Havana Club rums, Selección de Maestros is created by Cuba’s renowned Maestros Roneros. It takes a minimum of 15 years of hard training to earn the title, and there are only six Maestros Roneros in the world today – all living in Cuba, of course.

To create “Selección de Maestros”, Maestros Roneros selects the finest aged rums that stand out for their exceptional qualities from the Havana Club cellars. This hand-picked rum is then aged in specially selected barrels chosen by Maestros Roneros for the powerful aromatic potential of their wood, where the rum develops its character and intensity.

At the end of this aging process, Maestros Roneros collectively select the rum that will make up the final blend, which will be bottled directly from the barrel. This unique finishing process, called “Cuban Barrel Proof”, gives the rum its aromatic bouquet and exceptional quality that is second to none.

Havana Club Selección de Maestros is characterized by a warm amber hue, with a deep red glow.

The aroma has a light scent of roasted pecan, caramel and spices. This is followed by sweet smoke and vanilla as a result of long barrel aging.

The taste, despite the high alcohol content, is quite round and complex, with rich flavors of cocoa, coffee, sweet smoke and dried prunes. It has a pleasant finish of smoked oak and spice, mixed with candied fruits giving the experience a remarkable balance.

Selección de Maestros has already gained international recognition as an absolute premium rum and has been awarded gold at influential spirits competitions such as: The San Francisco World Spirits Award and The International Wine and Spirit Competition.
