Nikka Taketsuru is a malt whisky that is actually named after its founder, Masataka Taketsuru. The majority of the malt in the whisky comes from the popular Miyagikyo distillery, with the remainder coming from the Yoichi distillery.

The whisky has been aged for around 10 years on average, including in cherry casks to give it a rich and spicy nose. The nose has distinct hints of cherries, raisins, apples, honey and pepper. The flavor notes consist of espresso beans, milk chocolate, tobacco and cherries. A delicious and smoky finish with a final touch of coffee.
