In 2004, the Hoyos petit Robusto was created, probably the best new cigar of that year. Flavorful with rich spice, sweet notes and great complexity, it ages well. Generally mild and earthy at first, it quickly develops gradually without being aggressive. Reminds me of Cuba’s glory days and small cigars before Castro like El Rey Del Mundo, Royal Serie No.3. The aromas developed are so round and aromatic that we can almost forget it’s a young cigar. The finish is outstanding and it’s just hard to stop smoking the last part, even when your fingers start to burn.
