Elg Gin No.2 is the successor to Elg Gin No.1. With the release of these two gins, Den Ny Spritfabrik has really hit something special.

Moose Gin No.2 is what’s known as an “Old Tom Gin” – usually sweetened with botanicals such as licorice root, flowers or honey. However, that’s not the case with this particular gin.

Elg Gin No.2 is sweetened by mixing Elg Gin No.1 with a special juniper extract, where many kilos of juniper are soaked in 50% vol. Alcohol for several weeks. The end result is a sweet and dark drink at 30% vol. – to achieve the expected alcohol percentage, the sweet and dark drink is then blended again with Elg Gin No.1.

The juniper is clearly expressed in both taste and aroma. Moose Gin No.1 is recommended to mix with either ginger beer or ginger ale.
