A.H. Riise is a world-famous rum brand and Albert Heinrich Riise, who lends his name to the series, was a pharmacist on St. Thomas, a Danish colony, from 1838 to 1868. This was the beginning of the production of the high-quality Danish rum we know today.
The difference is that rum was initially used for medicinal purposes, but the products quickly became highly sought after and production grew beyond expectations.
To this day, A.H. Riise Spirits is responsible for the famous production of the tasty, diverse rums in the West Indies.
