Amarula is a delicious cream liqueur with quite a story behind it. The Marula tree grows in South Africa and is the source of this liqueur. The tree bears fruit once a year and when the fruits ripen in the sun, alcohol is produced.

The tree’s fruits attract elephants, among others, which act as indicators of when to start harvesting the fruits. After harvesting, two years are spent developing what becomes a great tasting liqueur. Amarula is based on cream liqueur and has a vanilla and tropical fruit flavor.
