In 1920s Puebla, the canteens of Barrio del Artista were filled with artists and intellectuals who gathered to exchange ideas on original homemade liqueurs known as “menjurjes”. One particularly popular menjurje was a handmade liqueur based on acho chili.

This liqueur pays homage to the original recipes for authentic Mexican liqueurs steeped in Puebla tradition.

Ancho Reyes Verde has a bright herbal flavor with notes of golden pineapple and a tasty acidity. The flavor finishes with the crisp, fresh heat of the green poblano chili – which, when dried, is called ancho or chile ancho.
