Bornholm is more than just smoked herring and the Hammershus Ruins. Bornholmer Juleakvavitten is made from Bornholmer 1855 Traditionsakvavit, a luxury akvavit produced by Hasle Dampbrænderi. Here, you’ll find a version where the flavor has been tweaked a bit more. Cloves and orange have been added, giving Bornholm Christmas Aquavit a festive touch—though you can, of course, enjoy it all year round. Enjoy it on its own, with coffee, or as a digestif at the Christmas dinner, where it pairs beautifully with herring, light dishes, and strong cheese. The familiar “kluk” bottle that the Christmas aquavit used to come in has been replaced with a new, updated bottle—but with the same great contents.
