The result is a limited edition rum in an elegant decanter, made to celebrate 20 years of discovering rum from all corners of the world.
The rum is made from sugarcane honey, which is produced by boiling filtered sugarcane juice.
The honey syrup that remains contains approximately 72% sugar.
Only sugar cane from Guatemala is used in production.
The rum is distilled on the distillery’s column still and then transported to the north-eastern part of Guatemala 185 meters above sea level.
There, the rum is aged in white oak barrels that previously held American bourbon.
This full-bodied rum now rests in the Hondo River region, which provides a humid climate for aging and thus allows the rum to accelerate its maturation because Rio Hondo is almost a tropical climate area in Guatemala.
The secret to this full-bodied rum is the second maturation in Olorosso and Pedro Ximenez casks, which takes place in cooler warehouses in Italy.
Here the rum develops its vinous and fruity characteristics.
